Draft · for review
Privacy
The short version: we collect the minimum needed to sell one essay and let you read it. No ads, no trackers, and your data is never sold.
This is a plain-language draft prepared for the author’s review. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
What we collect
Your email address, when you buy access or sign in. A sign-in session cookie, so you stay signed in. Your light-or-dark theme choice, which stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.
We also use Hotjar, a usage-analytics tool, to understand how pages are read (heatmaps and anonymized usage insights; it sets its own cookies). This helps us improve the reading experience and is never used for advertising or sold.
Payment
Payment is handled by Stripe, on Stripe’s own secure pages. We never see or store your card details. Stripe tells us the email you paid with and that the payment succeeded, so we can grant your lifetime access.
What we never do
No advertising, no ad trackers, and no selling or sharing of your personal data with anyone for marketing. The only emails you will receive are the sign-in links you request.
Where your data lives
Your email, sign-in sessions, and purchase record live in our database. The essay and site content live in our content system and contain no personal data.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to see the data we hold about you or to have it deleted. Deleting your account removes your sign-in; a minimal record of the purchase itself may be retained where bookkeeping rules require it.
